National Museum Tours
Beginning 11 June, the National Museum Volunteers (NMV) will conduct English guided tours of the Museum on Saturdays in addition to its regular Wednesday and Thursday tours. Saturday tours start at 10 AM (others at 9:30). Arrive at the box office in time to purchase an entrance ticket at 200 Baht – the tour is free. The NMV, established 42 years ago, is comprised of Thai and foreign members dedicated to the informed understanding of the arts in Thailand. For more information please email publicitynmv@gmail.com.
6-17 July: European Union Film Festival 2011
The Delegation of the European Union to Thailand will hold the 20th edition of the Film Festival at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. All films will be shown in their original languages with subtitles in English and admission is free of charge. This year’s festival showcases the cultural diversity of Europe as portrayed in 22 films from 16 different EU Member States. 9-24 July and 7 August: The University Choral Competition
The Office of the Higher Education Commission, the Ministry of Education and the College of Music, Mahidol University are organizing The University Choral Competition to celebrate the 84th Birthday Anniversary of HM the King. Each university choral group must have more than 50 college students. The required repertoireincludes: 1. Royal Anthem; 2. HM the King’s compositions; 3. Free choices. The application deadline is 30 June. The regional competition rounds will take place from 9-24 July 9-24 with the final round be on 7 August and the public is invited.
