Unofficial Translation of PM Yingluck’s reaction to Mr.Suthep’s announcement that is is ready to negotiate as reported in the Thai press.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra reiterated that she agrees to the process of negotiation, but the said negotiation must be under the principle of the current constitution. She asked Mr. Suthep back whether this is acceptable and whether he is ready to end the protest to pave the way for election or not.

Prime Minister Yingluck agrees to engage in a peaceful negotiation with Mr. Suthep. Earlier, Mr. Suthep, PDRC Secretary-General, announced that he is ready to negotiate with the Prime Minister on one-on-one format and that the negotiation will have to be televised to the public. Prime Minister asked Mr. Suthep whether he is ready to have the negotiation under the principle of the present Constitution and whether he is ready to end the protest to pave the way for the election under the current framework of the Constitution. Though there is no basic principle for the negotiation process to be successful, there should at least be a common goal that both sides would initially like to attain through negotiation. If both sides continue to hold different view on the process, it would be difficult to find a common ground. If the negotiation is held not in accordance with the basic principle of the Constitution, then some scholars should be invited to give their view in trying to solve the ongoing problem. Prime Minister again reiterated that the Government is ready to negotiate and willing to listen to the views from all sides. It should not be taken that the effort in finding the solution would end up with having a winning and losing side, but it should be seen as the concerned parties are trying to find ways to move country forward. If each party does not show any sign of flexibility, in the end, we would not be able to find a common ground.

Vize-Premier Surapong hat eine ganz ausgezeichnete Idee. Falls Suthep ernsthaft mit der Regierung verhandeln will, sollten erste Gespräche besser unter Ausschluß der Öffentlichkeit stattfinden.
Ein Show-TV Duell soll er sich besser mit Chalerm oder Jatuporn gönnen.

Eine wohl früher geschmissene (oder abgefeuerte), glücklicherweise nicht explodierte Granate wurde am Gebäude der NACC (National Anti-Corruption Commission) in Nonthaburi gefunden.
Dieses Gebäude wird bekanntlich momentan von den "Rothemden" belagert.

Gestern Abend um ungefähr 22 Uhr feuerte ein Täter mit einem M79 Granatwerfer eine Granate anscheinend auf den chaengwattana-Demonstrationsplatz des Protest-Mönches Issara, traf aber eine nahe gelegene Shell-Tankstelle.
Anscheinend gab es keine Treibstoff-Explosionen und keine Verletzten.

So bitter es teilweise auch für die völlig unschuldigen Opfer dieser mittlerweile zahlreichen Granaten klingt:
Wo lernen diese thailändischen Granatwerfer eigentlich das Zielen?

Ferner sagten mir zwei junge Verwandte unserer Familie (frühere Wehrdienst-Leistende) schon vor Jahren, dass es bei den thailändischen Streitkräften oft kein großes Problem darstellt, Munition und teils auch Waffen zu entwenden.
Die älteren dabei sitzenden Männer bekräftigten dies und fingen an, entsprechende Geschichten zu erzählen.
