Thailand: PDRC Statement on Yingluck Impeachment
"The courage to make a challenging decision by the national legislative assembly today mark a new beginning towards a reform era of Thailand. The decision to impeach Yingluck for negligence, allowing for corruption in rice pledging scheme amidst official warnings, will set a better standard for thai politicians in the future. Justice under the rule of law is a true long term solution to division in thai society. The PDRC will remain a peaceful force that will closely monitor the progress on reform."

Note from Michael Yon:
PDRC members risked their lives for this moment. Many PDRC members died or were wounded during the 2013-2014 struggle. They marched through the scorching hot streets, day after day, week after week, for more than six bloody months, often coming under attack from grenades or automatic weapons. For months, many people slept on the streets, only to wake up under attack from grenades or bullets.
But when they bled, they did not stop. They continued to blow the whistles, literally. My ears never will be the same.
PDRC members invested their money, their time, their blood, and their souls. Some literally died at Democracy Monument during an M-79 attack where they slept. Their blood was never washed away, and was left at the monument. They literally died on the monument as heroes to the Kingdom of Thailand.
It is not the Thai way to celebrate when there still is work to be done. But at least PDRC knows that it is succeeding. To victory, and to a better Thailand!
